Environmental Philosophy
OCC puts a high value on the harmony between business activities and environmental conservation as one of important issues for our management, and contributes to the creation of a prosperous future by making continuous improvements.
Environmental Policy
OCC contributes to conservation of global environment by carrying on the operation and improvements of the environmental management system and improving the environmental performance.
OCC complies with the laws and regulations of Japan as well as those of other countries and the international standards and arrangements with which OCC agrees, and also performs higher standards OCC voluntarily sets.
OCC shall proactively address the following activities:
- Preventing environment from pollution;
- Providing environment-friendly products; and
- Saving resources and energy.
Environmental Management System ISO14001
The environmental conservation and harmony with nature have become one of significant interest to many people and countries around the world.
OCC has developed an environmental management system based on the international standard ISO14001 to ensure the environmental conservation and prevention of pollution.
Further, OCC was certified for the Environmental Management System ISO14001 by a Certification Body (then-Det Norske Veritas) in December 2000.
Currently, OCC has effectively maintained and operated the Environmental Management System to achieve continuous improvements at all sites including the headquarter and plants.

Compliance
OCC has regularly monitored and confirmed the items provided by environmental regulations and codes.
Green Procurement
OCC has been committed on “Green Procurement” to preferentially procure materials with less environmental burden toward establishing a recycling society.
The OCC Green Procurement Guidelines have been abolished and the NEC Group Guidelines (Note) have been applied to deepen our efforts as a member of the NEC Group.
(Note) The NEC Green Procurement Guidelines (for suppliers), which have established NEC's green procurement standards, were abolished in November 2022 and consolidated into the NEC’s Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct in Supply Chain.
